SYNOPSIS

For as long as I can remember, my mom has been singing, singing, singing. My childhood was filled with her songs in French, Italian and Spanish. As a teenager, colorful words become harsh words, and I swear I'll never be like her. And time goes by... the songs come back when her granddaughters are born, and the bond is rebuilt. One day, illness clouds the threads of her memory. I realize that it's the songs that keep us in touch amid the birds - a metaphor for Alzheimer's disease - that peck away at her memory, and that love is always the strongest.
