SYNOPSIS

In the summer of 2021, I spent two months in Ukraine, following in the footsteps of part of my family. Through my sister, who was doing a thesis there at the time, I met Natacha, one of her friends from Kyiv.

Natacha lived through the Maïdan revolution in 2014. She is one of the so-called "primo demonstrators", i.e. all the demonstrators who were neither activists nor militants at the time, but who, after the revolution, mostly committed themselves to their country at various levels. These first-time protesters were in the majority during the first demonstrations at the end of 2013.

His testimony could have been that of thousands of other Ukrainians whose lives were turned upside down when history unfolded before their eyes with such violence that it was impossible not to confront it.

Her story appealed to me because these events changed her life forever. So I decided to record her story and turn it into an animated short.
