She studies environmental and land management, and campaigns against climate change, particularly coastal erosion, a serious problem in Senegal. in Senegal. She plays an active role in awareness-raising campaigns for young people in her native village, Palmarin, which is affected by high seas, leading to the salinization of fertile land impacting local communities. In 2023, she had the opportunity to take part in the Summer PENCC program designed to introduce young girls to filmmaking programs. She learned script-writing techniques, directing, digital camera use and an introduction to Adobe Première Pro editing software. On completion of the course, she made her first film, Romance Salée. She now uses now uses the cinematographic medium as a tool to further her activism environmental awareness.

Synopsis
In the picturesque Senegalese town of Palmarin, Gnilane and Damel are two young people deeply in love. However, their love leads to an unexpected pregnancy, which brings shame to both families. To meet the responsibilities ahead, Damel embarks on a perilous sea voyage to an uncertain destination.
